Camping : Pitch By The Woods

Set alongside two acres of woodland, ponds and pasture Waunwthan provides the opportunity for you to feel just as remote and as tranquil as you wish.

We are a small and 'natural' site catering for up to 10 tents, and small campervans. Access to our site means we cannot accommodate larger camper vans or caravans. All pitches are grass. We now have electric hookup points which we charge for in addition to the Pitch.

We also now have a car charging point – ask for details of cost.

We are Kay and Michael and have camped and caravanned for many years. All of the basic facilities you need when camping (and a bit more!) are provided. We will always try to fulfil other needs that arise during your stay.

The one acre camping field is slightly sloping with large level areas ideal for pitching your tent. It is surrounded by our two acre woodland and pond area. There is little light pollution in this area, so on clear nights the Milky Way can be a stunning sight. Consequently, and to keep the site as natural as possible there is no lighting in the field, although of course there is lighting to guide you to the indoor facilities.

We are family friendly with loads of space for children to play, woodland for them to explore and pond areas to investigate. We have two rescue donkeys for you to meet (Jenny and Paddy). For your safety and their welfare we will accompany you when you meet them.

For the adults Waunwthan also offers the opportunity for peace and quiet, and to enjoy nature – and possibly that glass of wine or a beer!

We welcome motor bikes and cycles (and canoes!) - we have a sheltered dry parking/storage area and space for wet clothing/gear to dry out. Michael has been a 'biker' for more years than he is willing to admit and is usually on hand to help if needed. He also has experience of cycles and canoes

Well behaved dogs are welcome, it is just important to note that this is a farming area so it is vital that they are kept under control and away from sheep. Dog walking through the woodland is a pleasure!
